Love, Passion, and Fun-Thirty Days of Romance

Once upon a time…two people fell in love, just like you.  They did all the classic romantic things, but the passion faded over time. Is this inevitable? Not at all. Couples with an A+ relationship know the secret of creating unique and personal ways to express their love.

There are thousands, even millions of ways of expressing love. These thirty days of romance are just the beginning.

Day 1- Visit someplace you’ve never been before. Get material from the local Chamber of Commerce or take a look at the guidebook for a city or region nearby.

Day 2- Buy a lottery ticket.  Give it to your lover with a note: “I hit the jackpot when I married you.”

Day 3- Give a creative touch to a love note. Use a computer; add flourishes; use calligraphy.  Turn the love not into a scroll and tie with a ribbon. Take your time and make it special.

Day 4- Make today a “Gift Day”. Bring home a bottle of scented massage oil and use it!

Day 5- Pick a token and make it into a necklace. Present to your love with this note: “Here’s a token of my affection for you.”

Day 6- Page through photo albums and videos together.  Relive the memories.

Day 7- Hug! Cuddle! Hold hands. Give a neck rug and massage your lover’s feet.
Week 2
Day 8- Go for a walk together. Hold hands. No headphones allowed!

Day 9- Get up with the sun. Make love. Go to work.

Day 10- Shower together, and then take a coffee break together before starting your day.
Day 11- Take a class together. Sign up for a dance class, cooking class, wine tasting, or massage class.

Day 12- Make today a “Gift Day”. Bring home a bouquet of flowers. Write a note about the symbolic significance of your choice of flowers.

Day 13- Make a CD of special love songs.  Break out the bubbly while you listen to the music.

Day 14- Fake a power outage. No TV; no computer; no lights…get out the candles and blankets. Huddle around the fireplace or heater and cuddle to keep warm. Take time for romance.
Week 3
Day 15- Share a bubble bath. Follow the bath with tea and cakes.

Day 16- Wake your lover up with coffee in bed.  Play romantic music in the background.

Day 17- Set aside some time to read out loud from a favorite book or from a romantic poem. Drink wine and eat cheese and fruit.

Day 18- Go to the gym together.  End the day with a massage.

Day 19- Chocolate is romantic, but not if you are dieting. Give your lover a stuffed animal and one candy kiss. Add a note: “For it was not into my ear you whispered, but into my heart. It was not my lips you kissed, but my soul.” (Judy Garland)

Day 20- Leave a greeting card on the car seat or on the bed thanking your lover for the everyday things he/she does that might appear to go unappreciated.

Day 21- Have lunch in an unusual place-an airport, museum, all-night diner, or quirky café.
Week 4
Day 22- Spend all day in bed. Read the Sunday paper; enjoy continental breakfast in bed (coffee, muffins, juice, toast, and fruit). Watch old movies. Make love (no hands). Have Pizza delivered for dinner.

Day 23- Take the day off and repeat activities from a previous day that you particularly enjoyed.

Day 24- Pack a picnic lunch/dinner. Throw a blanket on the floor. Enjoy a couple of glasses of wine. Enjoy talking to one another.  Bon appetite.

Day 25- Make today a “Gift Day”. Make a list of 10 reasons I love you. Present it over a special dinner at an upscale restaurant.
Day 26- Give you lover a “love coupon” for an on demand special service, i.e. a massage, a back rub, a bubble bath, a shower together, etc.

Day 27- Give your lover a bouquet of Tootsie Pops with a creative twist. Make all the wrappings the same color. Add one that’s a different color. Attach a note: “In every bunch there’s one who stands out-and you’re that one.”

Day 28- Rent a romantic movie. Eat popcorn and drink Korbel in two crystal champagne flutes with your initials on them.

Day 29- Go outside. Ring the doorbell. Greet your lover with a wrapped gift. Come inside and share some hot chocolate.

Day 30- Pack a bag for an unexpected romantic getaway. Schedule the trip, keeping the dates secret. When the time is right, take off and enjoy the trip.

Transform your relationship into a vibrant, excting love affair by including gifts, gestures, personal notes and other surprises.
