Anyone who's tried to lose weight knows it's not a piece of cake. But, as with everything, we can learn from others and their successes. One of the things I love about attending Weight Watcher meetings is hearing from others who have gone through the process and succeeded. It let's me know I can reach my weight loss goal.
One weight loss winner, Kimberly, is thirty years old and she lost a total of 115 pounds. Kim got a shocking wakeup call when her mother suddenly died at the age of 50 of ox gen deprivation, a direct result of morbid obesity. Kimberly's mom had good intentions, often signing up at the gym and buying exercise DVDs. Her efforts always seemed short-lived. When she died, Kimberly realized she was on the same path and that she needed a major lifestyle overhaul.
Kimberly began with small steps, documenting every BLT (bite, lick, and taste). She began to swap fattening favorite for healthier alternative. If she wanted a hamburger, she chose a leaner cut of beef or used ground turkey, cut down on mayo and used a lower calorie bun or a lettuce wrap. Kimberly learned to recreate her favorite sweet treats using fat-free, sugar-free alternatives. She prepared sugar-free jello with fruit packed in fruit juice topped with fat-free cool whip. Mixing a fat-free hot chocolate packet with unsweetened almond milk served as a delicious chocolate treat.
After working on her eating habits, Kimberly added exercise. At first her goal was to move three out of seven days each week, then she moved to exercise every other day.She didn't go to a gym, she walked,s tarting with a mile and a half and increasing the distance each week. Feeling more confident, she eventually added yoga and strength training.
