Harris-Perry Launches New MSNBC Show

The Melissa Harris-Perry Show will debut on MSNBC February 4th and is set to air on Saturdays and Sundays between 10AM-12PM. It will be the only politically-themed show hosted by an African-American woman on a cable news network.

MSNBC President Phil Griffin made the announcement and explained how he is thrilled to have her join the expanded weekend line-up.

The MSNBC audience is familiar with Melissa Harris-Perry. Perry is a frequent guest of PoliticsNation with Reverend Al Sharpton and Up With Chris Hayes. She also serves as an occasional host of The Rachel Maddow Show along with the The Last Word.

Harris-Perry is professor of political science at Tulane University, where she is founding director of the Anna Julia Cooper Project on Gender, Race, and Politics in the South. She previously served on the faculties of the University of Chicago and Princeton University. She is the author of Sister Citizen: Shame, Stereotypes and Black Women in America.

"This is an extraordinary experience," said Perry. Griffin and MSNBC are giving me the chance to have a much bigger classroom."
I enjoy watching "The Professor" as I call her.  She states her mind, even when her opinion is not popular and is able to articulate a persuasive argument on a variety of political issues. Check out her new show and let me know what you think of it.
