Show Me the Money: NBA Richest Players of All Time

"Show me the Money!" Cuba Gooding, Jr. will long be remembered for that line and his academy award winning performance in the movie Jerry McGuire. Much is made of the cash made in the entertainment world and in sports. I've taken a look at Rappers, Football players, and athletes in general. Why not concentrate on the cash cows of the NBA.NBA players are well paid and receive their share of fame and glory. In addition to their healthy salaries generated in multiple year contracts, many players enjoy opportunities for lucrative endorsements that feather their nests and launch their careers as wealthy businessmen.

Show Me the Money: Top Paid Athletes in 2014

Floyd Mayweather, Jr.

When ESPN released its list of the 25 Top Paid Athletes on April 14, 2014, sports fans were in for a few surprises.  No one should have dropped a jaw when they saw Boxer Floyd Mayweather, Jr. leading the pack with earnings of $73.5 million. He led Sports Illustrated high earnings listing in 2012 and 2013. Currently undefeated as a professional, he is a five-division world champion, having won eight world titles and the lineal championship in three different weight classes.

Cristiano Ronaldo

I guess fans kept track of Soccer Star Cristiano Ronaldo, who followed in the number 2 spot with earnings of $50.2 million. Ronaldo, a Portuguese footballer, plays as a forward for Spanish club Real Madrid and captains the Portugal national team.

Lionel Messi
Lionel Andrés Messi (#3) earning $50.1 million, is an Argentine footballer who plays as a forward for Spanish club FC Barcelona and the Argentina national team. He serves as the captain of his country's national football team.

The NFL was well represented with Green Bay Packer Quarterback Aaron Rogers (#4) earning $40 million, Detroit Loins QB Matthew Stafford (#6) with $31.5 million, and New England QB Tom Brady (#7) at $31 million. Tied for the number nine position with $30 million each are Atlanta Falcons QB Matt Ryan and Baltimore Ravens QB Joe Flacco. Look for Tony Romo at #14 with $26.5 million in earnings and Denver Broncos Quarterback Peyton Manning at # 16 earning $ 25 million, tying with Detroit Lions Wide Receiver Calvin Johnson.

Zack Greinke
LA Lakers Star Guard Kobe Bryant ranked # 8 with $30.5 million in earnings. Hard to believe Miami Heat Mega Star LeBron James earnings at $19.1 million. Topping the Major league Baseball earnings list were (#1) Zack Greinke-LA Dodgers at $28 million ; (#2) Ryan Howard and Cliff Lee-Philadelphia Phillies at $24 million each; and rounding out the top five in MLB tying for #3 were Robinson Cano,Seattle Mariners and Prince Fields, Texas Rangers.

It's just like Cub Godding Jr said in the movie Jerry McGuire..."Show Me The Money"!
