It might remind you a bit of “Green Acres” since it’s a
story of home on the range. Meet former city girl Ree Drummond, better known as
the Pioneer Woman after her award-winning blog.
She’s a writer and photographer living the down home country life in
Oklahoma with her hunky rancher husband, Ladd (whom she calls the Marlboro Man) and four lively kids (Alex, Paige, Bryce and Todd). Add a bunch of
cowboys, her extended family, 3000 wild mustangs, a herd of cattle, and Charlie, the
basset hound and you begin to picture yourself sitting in Ree’s kitchen
enjoying her soul satisfying recipies or spending time at her award-winnng blog.Since her Food Network show launched on August 27, 2011, Ree's cooking has taken a bigger chunk of her time and efforts. In its second season, the show airs on Saturday morning at 10:30 a.m. eastern and 9:30 a.m. central. Ree invites her fans to drop by, chow down and have some fun. She's also a best-selling cookbook author. Ree talks about her first cookbook "The Pioneer Woman Cooks-Recipies From an Accidental Country Girl" as one would speak of a first love. She says the whole experience was "memorable, special and something she'll never forget". "The Pioneer Woman Cooks-Food From My Frontier" is the latest offering from this best-selling cookbook author. It's her new best friend-bigger and better, with great photography. The book is full of old classics (revamped), a starters/partyfood section, and lots of dinners (casual and elegant).
The Pioneer Woman is still growing and moving in new circles. On March 19, 2010, Drummond confirmed media reports that Columbia Pictures had acquired the film rights to her book From Black Heels to Tractor Wheels. The production company was reported to be in talks with Reese Witherspoon to star as Ree in a motion picture based on the book
