My name is Kimberly Edwards and I am a full-time Crisis Care Hospice Nurse. My areas of focus on The Emerald Quill will be health care, relationship tips, as well as other tidbits.

Born and raised in Chicago, IL, I graduated from Rich Central High School in Olympia Fields, IL. I followed my family to Las Vegas in 2005, pursued a career in nursing, and graduated from the College of Southern Nevada. I have been a practical nurse for 3 years and am currently pursuing my goal of becoming a registered nurse. I am the proud mother of three totally awesome children ages 28, 21, and 17. I am also the proud “granny” of four.

Life is a coin. You can spend it any way you wish, but you only can spend it once.

My job is to take care of the possible and trust God with the impossible.

Meet Janel Green

I am the terror that flaps in the night. I am the surprise in your cereal box. I am Janel Green.

If the Darkwing Duck quote didn't give you a clue about my age, let's just say I'm old enough. Old enough to what? To party!

I've had 3 great loves in my life: My husband of 7 years, a Russian Blue cat named Milo (R.I.P.), and my 46" TV named Samantha.

I would describe myself as being frugal, but others would say cheap. I think I am pretty good at budgeting, planning, and basically making a dollar out of 15 cents. I studied Art in college because I wanted to become an Animator for Disney when I grew up. Makeup and nail designs are a hobby of mine. I have no cosmetology training, but I think I can beat that face. I've slowed down over the past year because of symptoms caused by my nemesis - The evil Darth Lupus.

Krystal L. Green

I am a 40 year old single mother of one 13 year old son. I would describe myself as a very liberal thinker with interests in National Politics and Popular Culture. I enjoy movies, music and all the trivial stories behind my favorites.

I would hope that friends would describe me as intelligent, real and loyal. My greatest goal in life is to raise my son into a proud, healthy, educated man. My biggest regret is that I did not use my full potential to excel in school. I am laid back and easy going and I generally try not to sweat the small stuff. However, hate, injustice and illogical thinking really gets me riled up.

You are likely to find a wide variety of topics in my articles for the EQ, far too many to name here. I do not have a writing style or any formal journalistic training. But, what I bring to the table is an interest and passion for a variety of topics and true desire for dialog with others.

As my son likes to point out, I’m not good at sugar coating. I am very candid and honest and I hope you will be the same. My goal is to share with you things that I stumble upon along my way, offering information and my thoughts and asking for yours in return.

My wife, Celestine, and I are the senior members of the Green Family. We met on the job and both retired on the same day after completing almost 40 years of Federal Service. We relocated to Las Vegas, NV and soon our children joined us there.

My family has always been my first priority, so we spend a great deal of our time together. I enjoy photography, R&B and cool Jazz, mystery novels and PS3 video games.
