Grab some popcorn and a cold drink, then sift through the Good, the Bad and the Ugly of some of this summer's big screen offerings:
The Good
"Marvel’s The Avengers": Iron Man, The
Incredible Hulk, Thor, Captain America, Hawkeye and Black Widow answer the call
to action to defeat an unexpected enemy threatening global safety and security.
Comic book fans started the summer off with this movie and based on the box office
revenues, they walked away satisfied. Robert Downey, Jr, Chris Evans, Mark Ruffalo, Chris Hemsworth, Jeremy Renner and Scarlett Johansson make up the cast of heroes. Customer rating:8.5
"The Dark Knight Rises": Batman returns
eight years after assuming the blame for Harvey Dent’s death, and matches wits
with cunning Catwoman and masked terrorist Bane. The film racked in $422.3 million
in six weeks. Kudos to Christian Bale, Anne Hathaway, Tom Hardy and the crew for 165 minutes of non-stop action and thrills. Customer Rating:8.9
"The Expendables 2": Mr. Church reunites the Expendables for what should be an easy paycheck, but when one of their men is murdered on the job, their quest for revenge puts them deep in enemy territory and up against an unexpected threat. Sylvester Stallone, Jason Statham, Jet Li, Bill Murray and Bruce Willis make up the posse, with a quick bow from Arnold Schwarzenegger. Customer Rating: 7.6
“Ted”: As the result of a childhood wish,
John Bennett's teddy bear, Ted, came to life and has been by John's side ever
since. Seth MacFarland, the voice of “Ted”, wrote and directed this sleeper hit.
Who knew a film about a dirty mouthed bear would showcase Mark Wahlberg comedic
talents, Mila Kunis plays the girlfriend of four years who’s looking for “more”
in the relationship. Inappropriate, but funny stuff. Customer Rating: 7.6
"The Amazing Spider-Man": Peter Parker finds a clue that might help him understand why his parents disappeared when he was young. His path puts him on a collision course with Dr. Curt Connors, his father's former partner. Andrew Garfield in the title role with Emma Stone as love interest Gwen Stacy. Customer Rating: 7.6
The Bad
"Savages": Entrepreneurs Ben, a peaceful and charitable marijuana producer, and friend Chon, a former Navy SEAL, run a lucrative, homegrown industry - raising some of the best weed ever developed. They also share a one-of-a-kind love with Ophelia. Life is idyllic in their Southern California town... until the Mexican Baja Cartel decides to move in and demands that the trio partners with them. When the merciless head of the BC, Elena and her enforcer, Lado, underestimate the unbreakable bond of the three friends, Ben and Chon - with the reluctant assistance of a dirty DEA agent - wage a seemingly unwinnable war against the cartel. And so begins a series of increasingly vicious ploys and maneuvers in a high stakes, savage battle of wills. Customer Rating: 6.8
"Snow White and the Huntsman": In a twist to the fairy tale, the Huntsman ordered to take Snow White into the woods to be killed winds up becoming her protector and mentor in a quest to vanquish the Evil Queen. Kristen Stewart of Twilight Sage fame teams with Chris Hemsworth (Thor) and Charlize Theron for 127 minutes that could have been spent doing something better. Take a bite of the apple and call it a day. Customer Rating: 6.5
"Dark Shadows": An imprisoned vampire, Barnabas Collins, is set free and returns to his ancestral home, where his dysfunctional descendants are in need of his protection.Johnny Depp and Tim Burton collaborate on "the dead of the undead". Also starring Michelle Pfeiffer. Customer Rating : 6.5
The Ugly
"Total Recall": A factory worker, Douglas Quaid, begins to suspect that he is a spy after visiting Rekall - a company that provides its clients with implanted fake memories of a life they would like to have led - goes wrong and he finds himself on the run. Customer Rating: 6.3
"Abraham Lincoln:Vampire Hunter":Abraham Lincoln, the 16th President of the United States, discovers vampires are planning to take over the United States. He makes it his mission to eliminate them. Need I say more?

"Battleship": A fleet of ships is forced to do battle with an armada of unknown origins in order to discover and thwart their destructive goals. Taylor Kitsch stars with Rihanna as Petty Officer Cora 'Weps' Raikes. Unfortunately this ship sunk! Customer Rating: 6.0
